Berry Street In-Person Foster Care Information Session: Shepparton, Hume Region (Ft. a foster carer)
Have you ever considered fostering a child or young person? Meet an accredited foster carer and learn how you can make a difference in a local child's life! In Victoria, the number of children who cannot live safely at home has risen every year over the last 10 years. Children need carers to provide a safe and nurturing home. With your help they can heal and look forward to the future.
Meet Berry Street foster carer Travis, for an informal coffee & chat (in-person) and learn first-hand what's involved in becoming a foster carer.
Travis and his wife Melissa have been fostering for more than 6 years, in which time they've fostered almost 40 children and young people.
Travis will answer all your questions answered, big or small, like:
- What should I consider before becoming a foster carer?
- What support does Berry Street provide to foster carers?
- How long does it take to become a foster carer?
- What relationship have you had with the birth families of the children you’ve cared for?
This is a free session however you must register online to attend. This session is for people that live in the Hume region in North East Victoria. This includes the Shire of Greater Shepparton, Moira, Mitchell, Murrindindi and Strathbogie.
