Cafs - Foster Carer Information Session

Becoming a foster carer is a meaningful way to make a lasting difference. Cafs foster carers come from all walks of life — singles, couples, families, renters, homeowners, working people and retirees. What they share is a willingness to care, provide stability and support a child to feel safe and valued.

During the session, you’ll learn about:

• What foster care is and the different types of care available
• Who can become a foster carer and eligibility requirements
• The application, assessment, and training process
• What support Cafs provides to foster carers (financial, practical, and professional)
• Common questions and myths about foster care
• The experiences and realities of caring for children and young people
• Next steps if you decide you’d like to explore fostering further

There will also be time to ask questions in a supportive, welcoming environment. We offer both in person and online sessions, depending on your individual needs. Register your interest or call 1800 692 237 to find out more.
