8 - 14 September  

Foster Care Week 2024 runs from Sunday 8 to Saturday 14 September and is an annual week of celebration of Victorian foster carers and the contribution they make to the lives of children, young people and families in our community.  

Victorians from all backgrounds and walks of life are encouraged to become foster carers. This Foster Care Week, learn more about how you can play a part in your community by becoming a foster carer.

AFLW Carlton coach Mathew Buck on being a foster carer and the power of sport in the community

The involvement of community figures like Mathew Buck, head coach of the Carlton Women’s Football Club shows the positive impact foster carers can have.

Mathew and his wife Rachael have provided respite and emergency care to over 100 children through MacKillop Family Services over the last eight years, demonstrating the incredible rewards of fostering.
